This is one of my favorite challenges, but it is taking me longer this year to get it done than usual! I typically have a hard time with the Z, but this year V is also giving me trouble. I think I finally have books picked out for both, now I just need to read them!
Z
I have 2 contenders for Z this year.
A non fiction option, Zen Trash, which takes stories from world religions and reimagine them with humor, irony, and provocation. I am intrigued by how that might be pulled off and still be respectful of the stories.
A fiction option, Zinnia, is the 2nd book in Jayne Castle’s St. Helens series. I recently read book one, Amaryllis, and enjoyed the futuristic paranormal mystery. If book 2 follows the same pattern, it’ll be a quick, fun read.
V
I don’t typically have a hard time with V. I love a good Vampire or Viscount book! This year we are heading into September and I still don’t have one read! I love stumbling upon books at library sales, and grabbed The Vanishing by Wendy Webb. Great for spooky season and to check off the V box!
So far, my favorite books include:
- S – So Not Meant to Be
- K – Kilt Trip
- E – The Exception to the Rule.
Check out Alphabet Books via Storygraph if you’d like to join or have a place to keep track.
