This is my third year to do the Around the Year Challenge! I keep doing ATY because the prompts are challenging but accessible and they inspire diversity but also keep it simple.
I finished this challenge in July this year, coming in between finished months the last few years (June in 2023, August in 2022). I’ve struggled with others this year, but books just seemed to fit ATY this year!
Reading slumps are no fun when you are a mood reader — and these challenges help keep me out of them. By offering different genres, topics, lengths, etc – I can almost always find a slump buster.
Favorite prompts/books from ATY:
- 3 – a book that fits a suggestion that didn’t make the list – Swift and Saddled
- 19 – a book connected in some way to any of the Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Flavors – Before the Coffee Gets Cold
- 26 – a book by an author known by their initials – Wolfsong
They are starting voting on prompts for Around the Year 2025 and I can’t wait to get started on that next year!
