Another year, another Popsugar Reading Challenge. My longest running challenge, it is also my favorite.
There are a few prompts this year giving me trouble, and one I am changing up due to reasons noted below.
- 1 – a book with the word ‘leap’ in the title. This one should not be this difficult. It is probably a me problem!
- 8 – a book by a blind or visually impaired author. I think I’m just being too picky on this one.
- 16 – a book set 24 years before you were born. That would be 1953 or 1954 and apparently nothing really happened those years that was worth writing about.
- 24 – a book that takes place over the course of 24 hours. I struggle with this one every year it is included. There are only so many and none really jump out at me. I’ll either get creative or settle soon.
- 37 – a book written during NaNoWriMo. This is the one I’ll be modifying due to the organizations stance on AI and grooming accusations. I’m not sure what I’ll replace it with just yet.
- 49 – the 24th book of an author. This one has been difficult due to the difficulty figuring out which book is an author’s 24th. Most websites list series in order and/or don’t include books written under pen names. I think I finally figtured one out though: Man of My Dreams by Johanna Lindsey Now I just need to read it!
Out of the ones read, these are my favorites:
- 43 – a second chance romance – Forget Me Not
- 46 – a book in which a character sleeps for more than 24 hours – Bride
- 28 – a book with a main character who is 42 years old – Ravensong (and the entire Green Creek Series)
- 29 – a book with a neurodivergent main character – To Catch a Firefly.
Hoping to get the stragglers knocked out soon!
