Thoughts
Masters of Death was a ride. Everyone came out to play: vampire, reaper, demon, angel, Death, godlings, and more.
The dialog had me chuckling, cringing, and swooning. I am not typically a fan of angst or betrayal, but the emotions between Fox and Brandt were so well done. Their story is told through some time jumps — which were a bit confusing at first on audio – that brought their characters and their behavior to life.
All the extra characters could’ve been overwhelming, but Blake gave them each enough time to be integral, without taking over. The found family was lovely as were the secondary love stories.
Steve West is one of my favorite narrators and he did not disappoint. I’m so glad I listened to this one.
